Florida governor Ron DeSantis asked the state’s medical board to ban gender-affirming care for trans individuals. Over the last year and a half, the Republican official has consistently attacked the LGBTQ+ community with harmful legislation. In a massive blow to LGBTQ+ rights, Oklahoma governor Kevin Stitt has signed another bill targeting trans youth. On 19 May, conservative lawmakers in the state’s Senate and House of Representatives passed the archaic SB 615 with a 38-7 vote.
