Matt Bomer to star in Golden Girls-like series from Ryan Murphy
Matt Bomer has been cast as Betty White’s counterpart in the gay equivalent of The Golden Girls. The multi-cam Hulu series, titled Mid-Century Modern, will be executive produced by Ryan Murphy and created by Will & Grace‘s Max Mutchnick and David Kohan. According to Variety, Bomer will play the “ditzy Rose-like character”, with Nathan Lane as the Dorothy and Linda Lavin as Lane’s mother, aka the Sophia.
