Former Trump adviser thinks that LGBTQ characters will “destroy” Star Wars

He seems to have missed the fact the Star Wars universe has already featured LGBTQ characters. Former Tr*mp adviser Sebastian Gorka has freaked out over the possibility of LGBTQ characters featuring in the final Star Wars film, The Rise of Skywalker. Although a romance between Finn and Poe Dameron was ruled out, Star Wars director JJ Abrams hinted that there might be other LGBTQ characters within the film. “In the case of the LGBTQ community, it was important to me that people who got to see this movie feel that…

Clive Rowe shines in Dick Whittington panto – review

This year’s Hackney Empire pantomime tells the classic tale of one boy and his cat, written and directed by Susie McKenna. “Get your minds out of the gutter!” bellows Clive Rowe, moments after making a dirty double entendre at the expense of Dick’s name. There’s not as much smut at our protagonist’s expense as we expected, however – while this panto may be full of humour for grown ups, it more leans towards politics than adult jokes. Playing at a theatre located in the heart of one of London’s safest…

Halsey goes country in the stunning video for Finally // Beautiful Stranger

Halsey has released the visual for her mesmerising new single Finally // Beautiful Stranger. In the video for the country-pop ballad, the American singer-songwriter performs at a dusty bar, decked out in her finest cowgirl attire. It’s stunning, and a massive departure from the R&B slash pop stylings of Without Me and Graveyard. Oh and because Halsey’s not letting us breathe, she’s released another new track called SUGA’s Interlude, which features SUGA from South Korean boyband BTS. Halsey previously collaborated with BTS on the platinum hit, Boy With Luv. Finally //…

English rugby referee Craig Maxwell-Keys comes out as gay

“You cannot ask someone to love you if you don’t love yourself.” Craig Maxwell-Keys has spoken about his sexuality for the first time. In a conversation with Rugby Media, the British rugby referee praised Rainbow Laces, a campaign that aims to raise money for LGBTQ charity Stonewall and to encourage people to share their support for equality in sport. He said the coming out stories of Welsh rugby referee Nigel Owens and Sam Stanley, the first English rugby union player to come out as gay, were a “source of support” and “comfort” for him at…

SXMSON refuses to be an LGBTQ artist who “shies away” from their sexuality

“If I’m going to do this, I’m going to do it my way.” Although SXMSON has been making music for over 10 years, the rising star has only recently launched his bid for superstardom. Over the past year, SXMSON has received critical acclaim for his pop anthems, particularly his latest release Smile – a dark electronic ballad in which the 26-year-old captures “the raw reality that comes with identifying as an LGBTQ+ musician”. His music videos have also received praise for their authenticity and unapologetic queerness; the clip for Memory…

Immersive Wolf of Wall Street an underwhelming experience – review

The producers of London’s The Great Gatsby immersive experience have brought Jordan Belfort’s story to the heart of The City. We have a fundamental issue with the immersive Wolf of Wall Street experience – we’re just not quite sure who it’s for. Of all the fictional worlds we’d like to inhabit, this one is far from the top of the list. While the combination of testosterone-fuelled bad behaviour and rampant misogyny is probably an accurate depiction of Stratton Oakment’s working environment, it doesn’t make for a particularly pleasant place to…
